British mum faces charges in Singapore in a eye-opening Netflix documentary.

A British woman featured in Netflix's Con Mum has been charged with fraud in Singapore, following allegations of duping her son and others to fund her extravagant lifestyle. Dionne Marie Hanna, 84, faces accusations from victims who claim she swindled them by promising reimbursement from a supposed inheritance from Brunei's royal family. Ms Hanna, who appeared in court via video link from a hospital bed, is accused of deceiving multiple individuals in Singapore and France by fabricating stories of illness and royal connections. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in jail and a fine. The documentary, released on Netflix in March, tells the story of Ms Hanna's son, Graham Hornigold, and their tumultuous relationship. Despite initial generosity, Ms Hanna left her son and others with mounting debts before disappearing. The film also hints at Ms Hanna's criminal history in the UK.
