Renowned Australian cricketer, David Warner, has decided to grace The Hundred tournament with his presence by signing a deal with London Spirit. The 38-year-old had previously been snubbed since the cancellation of the first edition of The Hundred in 2020 due to the pandemic. On the flip side, former England bowler James Anderson failed to attract any bids in the draft, along with the legendary Andrew Flintoff's son, Rocky.
The highly anticipated tournament also saw England all-rounder Jamie Overton securing a spot with Spirit alongside Warner, fetching a handsome sum of £200,000. The excitement is building up as the lineup for The Hundred 2025 takes shape, with several other notable signings in various teams.
The Hundred is set to kick off on 5 August, with a wildcard draft scheduled to further spice up the competition in May by allowing teams to recruit standout performers from the domestic circuit. Stay tuned for more updates!
